The Animal Behaviour Clinic at the University of Lincoln is recognised as one of the UK’s leading centres for companion animal behaviour support. Bringing together clinical expertise and world-class research, our team provides trusted, evidence-based assessments and treatment plans for pets and their owners.
Our clinic is led by Professor Daniel Mills, Europe’s first recognised specialist in veterinary behavioural medicine, supported by a team of highly experienced clinicians.
Every consultation is handled with care and attention, ensuring each case is assessed individually and solutions are tailored, compassionate, and based on the latest science.
Unlike many behaviour services, our work is grounded in peer-reviewed research and clinical trials. We focus on measurable outcomes, helping us track progress and giving reassurance to owners and referring veterinarians.
This strong scientific foundation makes the clinic one of the most trusted resources for behavioural referrals in the UK and internationally.
Comprehensive Behaviour Consultations – In-depth assessments carried out by our specialist team to identify underlying causes and create tailored treatment strategies.
Before attending a consultation, owners are asked to complete pre-consultation forms. These allow us to gather detailed background information and ensure we make the best use of your consultation time.
VETERINARY PROFESSIONALS: Please complete our Vet Referral Form and attach a full up to date clinical history for the pet you are referring.
PET OWNERS: Please submit an owner history form for your pet by, completing either the Dog Owner History Form or the Cat Owner History Form.
We understand how challenging behavioural issues can be for owners, which is why our mission is to provide strategies that are both effective and practical in everyday life. By focusing on clear explanations, achievable steps, and compassionate care, we aim to improve long-term welfare for pets while giving peace of mind to the families who love them.
At the same time, the clinic plays a vital role in advancing the field of behavioural medicine. As a training hub for veterinary students, researchers, and professionals, we ensure that the knowledge gained from our clinical work not only helps today’s cases but also supports the development of future practitioners, spreading the benefits of our expertise far beyond the consultation room.
